Zarna Jewels – Jewellery Care Guide

Your jewellery is designed to last a lifetime, but with daily wear, it deserves the right care and attention to keep it looking as stunning as the day you received it. At Zarna Jewels, we want you to enjoy your lab-grown diamond and fine jewellery for years to come. That’s why we’ve created this simple care guide.

Diamond Care

While diamonds are one of the hardest substances on earth, they can still lose their sparkle if not properly maintained.

Quick Tips to Care for Diamonds:

  • Remove Jewellery Before Showering
Soap and shampoo can leave a film over your diamond, making it appear dull.

  • Use a Soft Toothbrush & Warm Water
Gently scrub around the prongs and facets to remove dirt and product build-up.

  • Avoid Creams & Cosmetics
Apply moisturisers, sunscreens, perfumes, and hairsprays before wearing your jewellery. This prevents residue from settling behind stones and prongs.

  • Caution with Ultrasonic Cleaners
While effective, these devices can sometimes loosen diamonds in their setting. Use only with professional guidance.

Gold & Silver Care

Your gold and sterling silver jewellery may be exposed to daily wear, knocks, and chemicals. Proper care helps preserve shine and prevent damage.

Tips for Gold Jewellery (10K, 14K, 18K):

  • Remove before swimming or hot tubs — chlorine can damage or discolour gold.

  • Avoid using toothpaste as a cleaner — it’s abrasive and can scratch gold.

  • Take off jewellery during household cleaning (especially with bleach or harsh sprays).

Tips for Sterling Silver (925):

  • Silver can tarnish naturally over time. Store pieces in soft pouches to prevent exposure to air.

  • Clean gently with a silver polishing cloth or mild soap solution.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and chemicals.

How to Clean Different Jewellery Types

Rings:
Soak in warm water with mild dish soap for 15–30 minutes. Gently scrub prongs and inside the band with a soft toothbrush. Rinse and dry with a clean cloth.

Necklaces:
For plain gold or silver chains, soak in mild soap water, then rinse and dry. For gemstone pendants, wipe gently with a damp cloth instead of soaking, especially if set with glue.

Earrings:
Use an alcohol swab to clean hooks and posts for hygiene. For diamond or gemstone earrings, gently brush with warm water and a soft toothbrush, then dry with a soft cloth.

FAQs – Jewellery Care at Zarna Jewels

Q1: What can I do daily to care for my diamond jewellery?
Store it in a soft pouch or jewellery box, away from other items to prevent scratches.

Q2: How can I keep my diamond clean?
Give it a quick warm water and soap soak once a week, and wipe after each wear to remove oils.

Q3: Should I sleep in my jewellery?
We don’t recommend it. Sleeping with jewellery can loosen prongs or scratch delicate pieces over time.

Q4: How often should I clean my diamond ring?
A light clean weekly and a deeper clean every 1–2 months is ideal. Professional inspection once a year is also recommended.
