This policy explains how Zarna Jewels, a brand of Sheladiya Diamond, uses the personal data you give us when you visit zarnajewels.com, create an account, place an order, book an appointment, join the Zarna Circle newsletter or contact us. It applies to customers in India and abroad.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect, and why

3. Cookies and advertising tags
Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in, hold your shopping bag and remember your language and currency. They do not need consent.
With your consent, which the cookie banner asks for on your first visit, we also use:
- Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (Google LLC), to measure visits and the performance of our adverts.
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms), to measure our Facebook and Instagram adverts and show them to people who visited the site.
- Google Customer Reviews, which may invite you to review your purchase after an order.
You can say no in the banner and still shop as usual, and you can change your choice at any time by deleting the “zj_consent” cookie or clearing cookies in your browser. Where your browser sends a “do not track” or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no.
4. Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis (for example the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023), we rely on: the contract with you for orders, accounts, appointments and bespoke work; legal obligations for invoices, tax and customs records; your consent for the newsletter, the birthday treat and advertising cookies; and our legitimate interests in keeping the site secure, preventing fraud and answering your questions.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share only what each partner needs to do its job:
- Payment: Razorpay processes your payment and your bank authorises it; we receive a payment reference, not your card details.
- Delivery: our couriers (Sequal Logistic and courier partners in India; DHL, FedEx or UPS abroad) receive your name, address and phone number, and customs authorities receive the invoice details required for import.
- Grading and hallmarking: when you order an IGI report, the diamond details go to IGI; hallmarking centres do not receive your personal data.
- Email and messaging: our email provider sends order emails and the newsletter; WhatsApp (Meta) carries the messages you send us there.
- Measurement and advertising: Google and Meta, as described above, only with your consent.
- Hosting and IT: the companies that host the website and our systems, under contract.
- Authorities: where the law or a court requires it.
6. International transfers
We are based in India, so your data is processed in India. Partners such as Google, Meta and the couriers may process data in other countries, including the USA, under their own safeguards (for example standard contractual clauses). Where you are in the UK or the EU, this means your data leaves your country when you order from us.
7. How long we keep data
- Orders, invoices and payment references: 8 years after the order, for Indian tax and company law and for the lifetime manufacturing guarantee.
- Accounts: until you delete your account or after 3 years without a sign-in; we then anonymise it.
- Appointments and enquiries: 2 years after the last contact.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; your email is then kept on a suppression list only, so we do not write to you again.
- Advertising and analytics data: as set in the Google and Meta tools, at most 26 months.
8. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to stop or limit how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and you can withdraw consent at any time. You can also object to marketing. Email care@zarnajewels.com; we reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to your data-protection authority: in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), in the EU the authority of your country, and in India the Data Protection Board once it is constituted under the DPDP Act.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored encrypted, payment is taken on Razorpay’s PCI DSS-certified pages, and access to order data is limited to the staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been misused, contact us at once.
10. Children
Our jewellery is sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We post changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use your data are also sent to account holders by email.
12. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India, with the courts of Surat, Gujarat having jurisdiction, without taking away rights you have under the consumer and data-protection laws of the country where you live.
