Diwali 2026 (8 November): Plan Your Festive Jewellery Early
Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November this year, a little later than last year. Six weeks out is the perfect time to plan festive jewellery and gifts, especially for family abroad.
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday 8 November, with Dhanteras, the traditional day for buying gold and jewellery, on Friday 6 November. That is nearly three weeks later than last year, which gives you time to plan properly, especially if you are sending gifts to family in another country.

Why plan six weeks ahead
Most fine jewellery is made to order: ours takes two to three working weeks, then several working days for insured international delivery. Ordering by mid-October means your pieces arrive before Dhanteras with time to spare, and lets you choose engraved or bespoke pieces, which are not possible at the last minute.

Gold purity and hallmarks
Traditional Indian gold jewellery is often 22 carat. Diamond jewellery is usually made in 14 or 18 carat gold, because the harder alloy holds stones securely. In India, hallmarked gold jewellery carries a BIS mark with a six-digit HUID code, which you can check in the BIS CARE app.
